The Kindergarten/School-Age Program is a licensed program staffed by early childhood educators. Throughout the school year, we offer before and after school care to both kindergarten and school age children, plus full day alternate day care to kindergarten children. During the summer, we offer a full day program to both school age and kindergarten children for the months of July and August. The Kindergarten program is located at 2649A Concession Road (within South Branch Elementary School) and the School Age program is located at 2659 Concession Road (within the North Grenville Community Church).

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
|

In the Kindergarten/School Age Program we create, pretend, discover, build, explore and make new friends.
Free play: Art/sensory, science, dramatic play, books, construction, puzzles, games, and computers
are all available to provide endless learning activities.
Active play: Playgrounds, climbing structures, and a full gymnasium provide many opportunities
for developing physical skills.
Field trips: Allow the children to explore the wider world around them.
Mealtimes: Just as in school, the children bring a "brown bag" lunch. The Centre provides two
delicious and nutritious snacks per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Swimming in the summer: The Red Cross AquaQuest Program is made available by special arrangement
with the North Grenville Recreation Department. Fees for the swim program are charged separately and
are payable to the Municipality of North Grenville.

The Kindergarten Program is for children between the ages of 3 years 8 months and 5 years.
The School Age Program is for children between the ages of 6 years and 12 years.

PROFESSIONAL STAFF
|
| |
The KAFRC teachers hold diplomas in Early Childhood Education or related studies. A
carefully designed learning environment is planned by our teachers using stimulating play materials
and age-appropriate activities.
The KAFRC is licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. It is
a school-based child care facility located within the South Branch Elementary School. We are licensed
for 57 spaces: 12 kindergarten spaces and 45 school age spaces.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The programs operate each day Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. We offer before and after school care from September to June with full-time care on P.A. days, Christmas and March breaks, and a full Summer Fun Program for July and August.

The cost of care is based on the program in which your child is enrolled, and whether they
attend on a full or part time basis. Contact the child care centre for availability of space.

Graduating from one program to the next is dependent on space availability. We cannot guarantee continuity from the Toddler through School Age programs. Unfortunately, continuation through our programs is not guaranteed.
